Fun with icons!

I have a new icon! Whee! It's cut from this picture:



From just before I headed out to the Clermont Lounge on New Year's Eve for much loud music and many alcoholic beverages.

Today I lost my favorite mug in a catastrophic tea accident. My mother dug up this nifty little mini-hotplate device that's designed to keep ceramic mugs warm along with the contents thereof. (It's emblazoned with the logo of one of our local public radio stations, and was given in return for a pledge of monetary support to said station.) Anyway, I'd made and afternoon ritual of brewing a pot of tea and keeping a mug of that tea all warmed up on the little hotplate device. Welp, today I brewed up a mug's worth of tea and set it on the hotplate device and as I got up to get something, the power cord got tangled around my ankle and the whole works came crashing down. Tea everywhere and the handle of the mug shattered. Ugh. I mopped up the mess, blotted the rug, made more tea and went back to wasting time on the internet.

I helped with detail receiving special order books at work. Not only was it a wonderful break from routine, it's something else nifty to put on a resume. The job hunt is going depressingly. As much as they say about the economy improving, it's still a messy job market out there. Should probably change tactics somehow, but not sure what to change them into.

azewewish is in town this week. We're targeting this weekend to spend some quality time together and actually see each other for a change. Should be fun.

My thanks to you if you actually read this far without giving up in boredom. I'll see about livening up my life a bit.

I wasn't invited, I just showed up. ;) It was a rock and roll show at a seedy basement strip club with one of my favorite bands, The Forty Fives. I think I was the only one gussied up to the degree I was, but when you're competing with naked ladies for attention, you really have to go all the way.

When I met you at the Embassy Suites Pre-Party it was much shorter. I like it. (Although, you are one of those people who wear short hair well.)

Sounds like you had lots more excitement than I did for New Years, . . . although, cuddling up with the hubby ain't bad either. :)

Yeah, I've had short hair for ages, but before that I had long hair for many more ages. I decided I wanted long hair again, and there's nothing to do but wait. (And trim my bangs periodically so I can see.)

Hey, at least you had somebody to kiss at midnight. I didn't have anybody, so I kissed a random acquaintance on the cheek. (Then I had to lift my mask so he could see it was me and not freak out completely.)
