What, AGAIN?
Aug. 3rd, 2007 06:42 pmSo LJ is deleting journals again, only this time, they're actually looking at the content, applying the Miller Test and nuking the ones that flunk it. And if you need Literary or Artistic value to pass the Miller Test, then, face it, a lot of the shite that gets put out is not exactly going to pass muster.
And while I do think there are better ways they could go about it (like, say, warning people) and the quiet shift from strikethrough to boldface is kinda laughable, I still think fandom needs to get a fucking grip.

synecdochic pretty much sums up the situation better than I could even attempt.
Similar kerfuffles have flourished around Second Life. But people are really directing their rage in the wrong direction. If a company changes its policies to comply with existing law, do you vent your spleen at the company for changing the policy? Maybe, just maybe, you should be directing your ire at the governments that are passing and enforcing these laws to begin with. Or is it just easier to piss and moan in blogs about it?
Today I took pleasure in wearing velvet.
Today I learned that LJ/Six Apart went and did it AGAIN.
