wonderbink: The outline of a star surrounded by tiny (illegible) writing (tminick)
So I wrote that big long rambly entry about things that happened since I last posted and I completely forgot to mention that Brenda ([livejournal.com profile] azewewish) was in town last week!

Just . . . smack me, okay?

Anyway. She was in Atlanta for the Braves home opener, 'cos she' s like that. Of course, when she makes her way to Atlanta, I have to take what I can get in terms of hanging out with her, because her family pretty much takes priority and schedules the hell out of her time in the ATL.

So about the only time I could hook up with her was meeting her with her peeps at Mexico Lindo for trivia night. Fortunately, her family soundly approves of me, which is a good thing. I hung out, had a margarita and a quesadilla and watched them play trivia (I offered no help, since my trivia knowledge is pretty much confined to Duran Duran and a few Supreme Court decisions.) After trivia, Brenda's family went home and Brenda and I sat around and dished about fandom while I finished my drink. (Should I be relieved to know that Duranies are not, in fact, the only fanbase who are backbiting, hypocritical and full of shit?) I drove her to my digs so she could see them, gave her a quick tour of Second Life and then spent another long stretch driving her back and talking about everything under the sun. (A stretch made longer by the fact that I was so absorbed in our conversation that I completely missed our turn at one point, though that was probably when I was driving her to my place.)

So that was fun. Probably fun in that "you really had to be there" kind of way, but fun nonetheless.

Last night, I made satin. Well, sorta. I went through a little online tutorial and found out how to make a texture resembling satin fabric using various tools in Photoshop. For use in Second Life, natch. I also learned how to make a prim skirt using a groovy script that somebody wrote. I even got complimented on it when I went out dancing.

In other news, the internets are eating my brain. I knew there was a reason I gave them up for Lent.

Today I took pleasure in laughing my ass off at Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie. I'm so glad I got this for Christmas.

Today I learned a few things about my predecessors at the law firm I'm working at.
