wonderbink: The outline of a star surrounded by tiny (illegible) writing (tminick)
So I did see Fight Club at Chez Whoopee on Saturday night. I didn't like it as much as I would have liked to have liked it. It's not a bad film by any means, indeed, I'd say it's quite a good film. The only problem is, it's a film based on a Chuck Palahniuk novel, and I'm not all that crazy about the man as a writer. I read Survivor by him because the concept intrigued me, but I was let down by the execution. All his characters seem to be far too self-absorbed and depthless for me to really engage with and I wind up not giving a shit what happens to any of them.

I went to the movies on Sunday and watched V For Vendetta again to cleanse my mental palate. I'm sorry the comics purists are so offended, but I'm falling in love with this film. Will probably ask for the DVD if it comes out by my birthday. Or at least for the original graphic novel. I was pleased that the family with kids several rows behind me actually stayed quiet for the entire film. (Though I did hear one of the kids complain as we all exited the theater "But he never took off the mask!" I didn't say anything to the kid, though I may have breathed the words "And thank ghod for that!" to myself.)

I should really do this movie thing more often.

Today I took pleasure in a hazelnut latte.

Today I learned that in Americus, Georgia, at least, some people really do live on Easy Street.
