If you happen to be working on some creative writing project, fanfiction or NaNoWriMo or what have you, post exactly one sentence from each of your current works in progress in your journal. It should probably be your favourite or most intriguing sentence so far, but what you choose is entirely your discretion.

From Sam and Charlie Go On a Roadtrip, my NaNoWriMo novel:

"If I could only remember that line from Lovecraft about Cthulhu dreaming in his city, I would have recited it at her with some cryptic gestures just to watch her freak."

From "High", a fragment of a short story:

"The crystals flare a gas stove blue as he inhales."

From "Christophina's Wings", a marginally longer bit of unfinished short story:

"She’d covered the laminate walls with a mosaic of paper—flyers for bands and club nights, advertisement postcards and sheets of paper that she’d rescued from the recycle bin and drawn pictures on with stolen pens."

From a perpetually unfinished bit of fanfic that I decline to name or define the genre for:

"A brisk wind set parts of the sculpture turning slowly as if it waved back."

Wow! I have a lot more going on than I realized. I think I'm going to take another stab my NaNo writing.
