I like books! Which is a good thing, now that I'm working at a bookstore. I also love library books, because they're even cheaper than books with the employee discount and I don't have to figure out where the hell to put them.

DeKalb County has some pretty spiffy libraries. They're pretty good at getting recent stuff, so I was able to snag a couple of books I've been curious about from shelving them. Got Cerulean Sins, the latest trashy goth novel from Laurell K. Hamilton and let's just say I'm glad I was able to read it for free. Also got Nickel and Dimed by Barbara Ehrenreich, a saga of one woman's journey through the trenches of minimum wage jobs. I'll let you know how it is--though I don't think it's going to tell me much I don't already know from my adventures as a wage slave.

Work is going well. I am gradually getting better about getting up at 4:20 AM and getting to work on time. I'm still figuring out the most cost-effective method of non-coffee caffeine absorption. I've been going through teabags and half-and-half but today I just snagged a Cherry Coke from the fridge and sucked that down. Boy, I bet you just found that fascinating.

There's a Kinks tribute going on Saturday night at the Echo Lounge. Will probably go. No big plans tonight, other than splurging on a dinner out.
