I'm leaving work early to go to Savannah, Georgia for the weekend.

Yes, that would be Saint Patrick's Day weekend.

Yes, that would be completely insane.

britpoptarts is providing crashspace. She's also trying to see if she can score us a spot on a float in the parade. Cross fingers.

I hit the road in an hour, so I'd better get back to work now . . .

Today (so far) I took pleasure in my morning shake/smoothie thingy of vanilla yogurt, frozen strawberries and a banana.

Today (so far) I learned that Savannah has quite a few WiFi hotspots that I may be taking advantage of. Stay tuned.

Had fun this weekend, despite technology snafus.

Read the post-mortem on the weekend activities: instead of the standard 4-6 deep crowds, they were 12-15 deep. Instead of the usual 100 arrests for stupidity, arrests were double that as of 6PM Saturday and expected to triple or quadruple. Crowds were estimated at 5x normal. Bay Street was shut down. Public urination, brawls, sexual harrassment and public drunken-ass behavior made up the majority of the arrests. Several deaths reported, unsure if they were related to festivities or just in vicinity. Port-O-Lets were maxxed out as of 11am, and couldn't be emptied because the trucks couldn't get to them. Cars were vandalized.

All in all, a good time was apparently had by all. Eeks!

PC is still in shop. Using old crabby craptop to check school email and LJ. Looks like all the free time I was hoping to spend mucking about online and playing stupid simulation games will be spent doing things I can do any old time I don't have days on end of free time. Argh.

Bought scads of niecewear for bebe due May 8th. $$$! But cute wee things they were.
