Just Want To Mention . . .
Sep. 17th, 2009 11:08 pm. . . for those who care--the Sandy Springs Planning Commission voted to recommend DENIAL of the rezoning application made by the Church of Scientology.
I gave a short statement, pointing out that there didn't seem to be a reachable compromise and that denial was the best option. Three out of the five folks voting agreed with that notion, to my delight.
Oh, and some station interviewed me, so I might be on the news. Looking ghastly, no doubt.
The matter still has to go before the Mayor and City Council next month, so it's not over yet. But it's possible they'll be as sick of it as the Planning Commission was when they voted to deny it. We shall see.
Tired, but relieved. Heading for bed, I think.
Today I took pleasure in the tide turning from conditional approval to outright denial.
Today I learned the origins of the word "satire."
