Condo Sweet Condo
Nov. 20th, 2006 08:01 pmLo, verily, I have been moved!
The movers showed up a little after four o'clock, and got my stuff loaded, moved and unloaded in three hours. Which was perfect, 'cos it was a three hour minimum charge. Mom gave me some cash to tip the dudes with, which they earned by the fact that they had to take all my little boxes and lug them up the steps instead of using a hand truck, because the staircase is curved.
My camera is still at the house. I'll probably pick it up (along with some leftover shoes and other crap) when I come over for Thanksgiving. When it is obtained, I'll see about taking some piccies so y'all can see what I've done with the place. (At least as far as de-pasteling the walls.)
Sunday I went to the grocery store with my mom and she helped me stock my larder as a housewarming gift, so I have useful things like flour, sugar and spices.
Today I actually snuck home for lunch. It's not a perfect commute--I spent more time in transit than I actually spent in the house. But, on the plus side, that gives me time to listen to the Retroplex. And there is something amazingly groovy about eating a sandwich in your very own place.
I have the essentials unpacked--my kitchen stuff, my bathroom stuff and, as of today, my stereo. Right now I have Tin Machine blasting on the speakers and life is very good.
NaNo is way behind but still possible. I've been alternating between writing and unpacking. Should probably get back to that.
Today I took pleasure in a peanut butter sandwich on toast, washed down with a Cherry Coke.
Today I learned that my stereo still works after years of inactivity.
