Greeting from Fla-dee-dah!
Jul. 23rd, 2006 07:54 pmSo I'm down at St. Augustine Beach with the family, a tradition dating back to my infancy. I'm told I actually took my first steps on the beach. It's basically a week to splash around in the ocean, float around in the pool, read books and take long naps. My tradition for the past decade and a half has been to sit out on the balcony and listen to David Sylvian's Gone To Earth on my headphones. Initially, I used a tape, then later a CD and now I've got the whole thing loaded up on my iPod. Time marches on.
Didn't manage to have a balcony session today, because it rained cats, dogs and occasional ferrets all afternoon. I napped and wrote and wound up rereading my current diary, which is coming to its last few pages. I have a fresh book waiting to be filled as soon as that one's done. My diary seems to be a little patchier in tracking the progress of my life since I discovered blogging. Figures.
I have dial-up, but I also found that there's a wireless connection that I can piggyback on when the winds are right. I'm going to try to post this using it.
Today I took pleasure in watching my niece Caroline splash about in the waves.
Today I learned that the Winn-Dixie down the street has its own liquor store.
