wonderbink: The outline of a star surrounded by tiny (illegible) writing (tminick)
So Friday night was relatively low key. I mean, for DragonCon--most definitions of "low key" don't include wading through crowds of butterfly-winged fairies and Imperial Stormtroopers to get to the bar. I hung out with my older brother and his wife for much of the evening, since they know all the cool people and they had beer. I got to see the amazing portable bar, but the liquor cases he built were left at home so the liquor could be smuggled into the hotel in battered road cases. (The hotel abruptly decided to enforce corking fees for people who bring in liquor, which is likely to cramp the style of many.) The big shebang is tonight, and it should be much fun.

Met and caught up with people I haven't seen in ages--which for me is what DragonCon is for--including a guy who may still have in his possession a tape of a mix I did taking "New Religion" and "God (London)" and fusing them together. Of all the mixes I did with him, it was the one I was most proud of, and if I can get my hands on this, it's headed for the Internet for Duranies around the world to enjoy.

Today I took pleasure in a great conversation about bad movies we love.

Today I learned about a really neat documentary called American Scary, about TV horror film hosts through the years. (It's not out yet, but the site has trailers, so check it out.)
