Happy Birthday To ME!
Jun. 14th, 2005 09:56 pmWell, it was a bit of a wash as birthdays go. I didn't take time off of work or class, so much of my time was spent doing the usual. I did make a trek downtown for my lunch hour but the High Museum Folk Art and Photography Gallery is still closed (permanently?) so I just looked at the pretty carvings on the buildings and ambled a bit.
After work, I went to the dollar store and bought shiny things, and then checked the message boards and seeing that dd.com was drowning in drama I took it upon myself to throw a small tantrum about my birthday in order to distract people a bit. Then I decided that I wanted cake, so I went to the grocery store to get cake and got caught in thick and ugly traffic that delayed me far more than I'd counted on, so I got home just barely in time to scarf dinner and make it to class.
Class was class. The instructor for this session had a refreshingly cynical perspective on the legal profession.
I got home and got my presents. One was a glass pendant of a night sky with a crescent moon and the other was an iPod mini. A fucking iPod mini. My parents spoil me rotten sometimes, I swear.
Right now, it's having an amiable chat with my laptop and is about halfway through my current collection. I'll probably be loading more stuff on it soon. The possibilities are endless.
I'm thinking I may drag my birthday out for a week or so, the way Christmas used to last twelve days. I don't get a proper cake and candles until Sunday, so I guess I'll keep birthdaying between now and then.
