wonderbink: The outline of a star surrounded by tiny (illegible) writing (makeawish (by piperredfern))
It's raining like crazy right now. I'm not sure what state my car is going to be in, since I have a sneaking suspicion that the seals on the doors are going and water is getting in. I'll probably have it looked at when I get my oil changed at the dealership about 300 miles from now.

I'm missing several CDs from my collection upstairs. Friday night, I was looking for my Diana Krall CD (because I like to listen to "Peel Me A Grape" while I'm putting on makeup--it's the perfect soundtrack for one's divavication) and it was nowhere to be found. I did find two CDs by Lords of Acid, one by Alanis Morissette and a couple more by Louis Armstrong--none of which I have any recollection of owning. I wonder if neglect is causing my CD collection to mutate--though whether it's an improvement really depends on which CDs the Diana Krall ones turned into. If they were the ones who evolved into the Louis Armstrong, I'd consider it an upgrade. If they turned into Lords of Acid, I'm not so sure.

Anyway, I found a suitable CD for getting swanked up (Thelonious Monk, Round Midnight and other Jazz Classics) and got lightly gussied to go out to The EARL for three heaping helping of garage rock--The Cogburns, Catfight! and The Woggles. Much, much fun. Flirted with a cute guy and reeled him in for a little snoggery. Never got a phone number. Don't really care.

Saturday night I went to Lake's house to convert her to the cult of Eddie Izzard. Brought Definite Article and Glorious but we only made it through Definite Article before everybody (Lake, her husband Patrick and her daughter Mirhi) crashed out. They'd been packing all day and were a little tired. They did groove on it, though, as I thought they would. (Lake pondered what book she would want to come out of if she were to come out of a book--I think I may pose this question on [livejournal.com profile] eddieizzard, because I think it makes an interesting discussion question.) I quietly watched Glorious so I'd have time to sober up from the vodka-and-Shasta concoction I'd been served and then slipped off into the night.

It's stopped raining. I guess I can switch off the lights now.
