Friday: Clean the parents' house and put in three hours working on Dad's database of editors. Go to Videodrome and find they've rearranged everything. Find an entire section for TV vids, including three episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000 on DVD! Wahey! Grab "The Wild World of Batwoman". Guy at the counter tells me that the person who did that movie got his pants sued off by DC Comics and never made a movie again. DVD has the uncut version of the movie as well as the MST3K version, so I watch the uncut version first, then the guy-and-two-robots version. Hours of entertainment!

Saturday: My little brother graduates from the Georgia Intstitute of Technology with a Doctorate in Physics. All the local family goes to the ceremony, including my six-month-old niece. My friend Steve also graduates with his Masters in Information Technology, but I don't realize it until I see him sitting down. I try to get his attention after the ceremony when everybody is filing out, but he doesn't hear me. I leave a message on his cell phone as we're pulling out of the parking lot. There is much celebration at the homestead afterwards, with cold meats, potato salad and Georgia strawberries. I make my way back home eventually, swing by the video store to return the MST3K DVD and promptly rent out another one ("Manos: The Hands of Fate"). It doesn't have the movie sans commentary, but it does have a blooper reel (of the in-between scenes, not the movie itself) which I watch after the flick.

Sunday: Lots of sleep. Dinner is leftovers from yesterday's celebration, with some asparagus and hollandaise added to the menu and the cold chicken converted to chicken salad. Strawberry shortcake for dessert. Go to the Star Bar to see if the movie night thing I saw a poster for last time I was there is still going on. As it turns out, it isn't, but Steve returns my call as I'm on my way there, and we agree to meet at Teaspace. Teaspace is a tiny little restaurant down an alleyway in Little Five Points with a v. modern vaguely Asian theme. Steve eventually arrives and we catch up on stuff. I tell Steve I've mostly been curled up at home with bad movies. He suggests I need to get out and do more stuff. He's probably right.
