homeownership is expensive
Still plugging away at unpacking. Just the remains of the sewing room left--not quite 20 boxes. This includes assorted other craft supplies that will not be going in the sewing room. Unlikely to make it by the end of August, but should be mid-September. Then I get to put the rest of the curtains up, sort out the closets, and start painting the trim in the rest of the rooms. (Going to take my time on the painting!)
It being mid-August, and still about 90° F out, I decided that now was a good time to get my heating system maintenance done. And, uh. I need a new boiler. And some replacement pipes for the baseboard heat. Ex-pen-sive. About the same cost as moving my laundry up to the main level. At least I discovered it now and not, say, January.
This is why I haven't started the process to install solar panels yet. If I had done that, I wouldn't have the money for this.
