I think I've got enough signal to pull this off, so I'll give it a try. I'm coming to you live from the Blair Crimmins and the Hookers show at Park Tavern, sitting on the grass by a miniature lamppost. I had a pretty awesome weekend and I want to tell you, five people still reading this, how it was.

Friday I cleaned the place early so my Saturday would be in unencumbered. Friday night I went to Eyedrum (a venue for experimental art, music and other expression) to witness an evening of modern compositions played on toy piano by Amy O'Dell of Chamber Cartel. It was a surprisingly varied evening. Some composers gave in to the tinkly cuteness of the toy piano while others seemed to use it as a percussion instrument. About half the composers were actually present (not all of them, though--I don't think John Cage could have made it) and they came up to take bows and explain themselves. All in all a fine evening of modern classical with a twist.

Saturday was the day of awesome because I got to go to Jeff and Angelo's wedding. Jeff and Angelo (or Angelo and Jeff--it can go either way) are a couple I've known since I was in high school. Angelo actually took me to the prom (and Jeff did my hair and makeup.) I've known them and loved them for a very long time.

They've been going through some rough times lately so it was nice to put all their troubles on hold and watch them reaffirm their commitment to each other. I pretty much cried the entire time. I tucked a packet of tissues in the deep pocket of my red silk jacket and busted it out the moment they came out. Then my sister poked me and I handed her a tissue. Then my brother poked me and I handed him a tissue. It's a good thing I came prepared.

The ceremony was brief and very moving. Then came the reception where I got to catch up with mutual friends and sip some of the sweetest sparkling wine I've ever had.

I had dinner at my parents' house with my sister and then we went to a bar called Friends for the continued festivities. I shot pool (badly) and hung out with my favorite people in the world.

Today was naps, grocery shopping, and the usual routines. Tonight I'll be seeing Blair Crimmins and the Hookers, which puts us back to where I started.

Today I took pleasure in writing this blog post.

Today I learned you can win shots with a beanbag toss here.
